South East Authorities Service Improvement Group

South East Authorities Service Improvement Group (SEASIG)

Description of Network

SEASIG was set up to improve customer experiences in the South East authorities. The group is made up of customer service managers, performance staff as well as staff who provide data to monitor how we are dealing with our public. We meet quarterly for 3 hours in different venues around the South East and share what we are doing. We have agendas for these meetings which anyone can add items to which they think relevant.

We have a website set up, on which we can post queries, a library for best practice as well as where we put the benchmarking activities that we share, so we can all learn from each other. Discussions in the past have been: DFT band 3 evidence, Income generation, Customer Service Week, benchmarking exercises (licensing, claims, NHT survey results, channel shift, apprentices). We invite others to the meetings if the topic is relevant e.g. Highways England.

Benefits of Membership

  • Sharing best / worst practice.
  • Contact with other Authorities - if not this group can forward enquiries onto others who may be able to assist.
  • Band 3 evidence of collaborative working and benchmarking.
  • Supporting each other - we are all different sizes and set up differently but with now reduced staff we share what we have produced so we are all not trying to reinvent the wheel.
  • Putting into practice what we learn to improve customer satisfaction and their experience with us.

Becoming a Member

Anyone dealing with Highways in the South East of the country can become a member. Our members currently are mainly county councils dealing with similar issues. If you are interested in joining please contact S Crouch for more details.  See contact below.

We understand that there are similar groups set up around the country so we would be interested to have links with these.
